5 Days Uganda Gorillas & Primates Safari

ITINERARY
Day 1: Depart for Kibale Forest National Park
Have early breakfast and start a 5-6 hrs drive to Kibale Forest National Park. The journey takes you through   beautiful sceneries of tea and pine tree plantations and homesteads, reach fort portal the district that lies amidst the great mountains of the moon by lunch time. Have lunch at kitojo tourist Home. If the evening is free, we can take a nature walk or excursion to the crater lakes regions near Ndali and later dine; you will be entertained in some of the cultural dances of the region. Dinner and overnight at kitojo tourist home.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking.
Have early breakfast and proceed to Kanyanchu Tourist Center for a briefing about Chimpanzee tracking. Kibale Forest is a home to 13 primate species, 350 bird species and butterflies. Along the trek in search for Chimpanzees, you will be exposed to other  primates like the colobus, Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Olive baboons, Red tailed monkeys, the L’Hoest’s, Bush babies, Vervet monkeys, giant forest hogs and excellent bird watching. The Guide will provide information on both flora and fauna, thus making the trek enjoyable and informative.
Return for to the lodge; relax as we wait for lunch. In the evening, you can go for a nature walk in Bigodi swamps adjacent to Kibale Forest. The walk rewards you with about 200 bird species, 8 primates and several antelopes. Or, take a cultural walk to nearby communities. Dinner and overnight at kitojo tourist home
Day 3: Kibale – Ishasha Sector – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have breakfast, drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Ishasha Sector where you can enjoy big game like tree-climbing lions, Leopards, buffaloes, elephants, Antelopes and warthogs among others, reach Bwindi impenetrable forest by late afternoon. This a home to 360 mountain gorillas (half of the world’s total population) plus other primate species like golden monkeys, Mangabeys, L’Hoest’s Monkeys, colobus and red-tailed monkeys among others, mammals such as Forest Elephants as well as over 300 bird species. If the evening is free, you will go for a community walk where you will be entertained in some of the cultural dances of the Batwa (pygmies).  Dinner and overnight  at Bwindi view Bandas

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking Excursion
Have early breakfast, assemble at Bwindi park headquarters with packed lunch for a briefing about the ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ while with gorillas. Tracking can take 2-9 hours depending on their movements. You will penetrate the impenetrable forest; climb steep, muddy and slippery grounds of the jungle till you meet the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. You will stay with these Giant apes for 1 hour for observation and photography. Dinner and over night at Bwindi view bandas

Day 5:Bwindi- Kampala--Airport
Have early breakfast at the lodge, pack our lunch and start our drive to Kampala. It is 6-8 hours drive and rewards you with beautiful scenic views and wild game, stop at the equator for photographs and enjoy being in two hemispheres at the same time. Proceed and reach Kampala by late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at  Executive airport hotel.
The cost includes:
-All ground transportation in a 4X4 WD Tour vehicle plus fuel
-Services of an English-speaking driver guide
-Accommodation in the park, Kampala/airport
-Meals
-Gorilla permit at 500 usd each
-Chimpanzee tracking permit at 150 usd each
-Game drives
-Guided nature walks

-All government taxes
But it excludes; Items of personal nature like Laundry, Beers, tipping of staffs at the lodges.
