UGANDA’S AIRLINE BUSINESS
Uganda’s airline business has had a steady growth in the last decade as the country becomes a major investment hub in the east African region especially in the oil sector .
Gulf air re-launched flights to Entebbe with effect from December coming on the back of Qatar Airways the recent to enter Uganda’s airline business.
The re-launch of airline’s flights to Entebbe will give Ugandan travelers another alternative air line to the middle East, Europe ,and Asian countries.
This will also present commercial and tourism opportunities for investors , entrepreneurs, and business people from different markets.
Qatar Air ways a Doho-based airline is expected to commence daily flights between Doha and Entebbe and to the rest of the world in November
The airline is also expected to launch flights in south Sudan capital Juba with effect from February 7th 2012 and it will be the first international airline to fly to the world’s youngest country and this is expected to tighten competition for market share in the local airline industry which could result into reduced air ticket prices
