WILD ANIMALS DISRUPT LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Locals around lake Mburo  park argued the president of Uganda to help them check the interference of wild animals to their community.
This request was made during the inauguration of the new board of directors of Rushere community hospital in Rushere town council in kiruhura district.
Locals complained of wild animals moving out side the park and this is a big problem to their domestic animals because these wild animals bring diseases and ticks to their livestock and destroy crops, water points, pasture, and farm fences.

It is noted that the affected farmers are those who established themselves in areas that were formerly park  land and this land was given to people.
The Uganda wildlife authority has started sport hunting in this area  where stray animals are killed and the owner of the land were the animal has been killed earns 50 per cent of the money paid by the sport hunter and 40 percent of the money goes to the surrounding community.
There is need for government intervention about this issue to either relocate the people in the park or fence the park boundaries to avoid the conflicts.
